Humble Design San Diego is celebrating its 500th home transformation on April 24, marking a significant milestone in their mission to help families escape homelessness. Since 2018, the organization has transformed empty residences into furnished homes for over 1,200 people, including 700+ children and 60 veterans in San Diego County.

The upcoming transformation will benefit Mercedes, a client referred through an Independent Living Systems and Kaiser Permanente partnership. According to a 2024 UC San Diego Homelessness Hub study, the organization maintains a remarkable 98% housing retention rate among clients - more than 10 times the San Diego County average.
